A free twenty-minute call is the usual first step. You describe what you already do on a phone or computer, and what you would like to do next. We listen, then we name one programme and one alternative. If neither would help, we say that clearly.
The call is a conversation, not an enrolment. You can stop after it. If you do join a group, payment starts after the first session you attend. Calls run on Singapore time, Monday to Friday 09:30–18:00 and Saturday 10:00–14:00.
We ask what you already switch on: a phone, a tablet, or a laptop. Age of the machine matters only so we can judge whether a group class will frustrate you. If the device is too old, we will say so and suggest a one-to-one hour instead, or we will suggest waiting.
The task you care about
A photograph folder, a suspicious text, a first chat with an assistant, a video call with family. We pick from the twelve programmes using that task. You do not need the name of a product.
Who else is involved
Some people want a relative in the room. The family pair session is built for that. Others prefer to learn without an audience. We will not copy a relative into the booking unless you ask.
Whether a class is the wrong tool
If you need someone to take over a bank login, recover SingPass, or give a medical opinion, we will decline. Those jobs sit with the bank, the government service, or a clinician. The call still has value because it saves you a programme that would not have helped.
How the twenty minutes run
Step 1
You say what you already do
Email, WhatsApp, photos, video calls, or only the telephone. There is no wrong starting point. We write it down so the recommendation matches the device you actually use.
Step 2
You name one thing you want to manage better
Keep it small. “Read a scam text more slowly” is enough. “Become good at AI” is too large, and we will narrow it with you.
Step 3
We suggest one programme
We point to a card on the programmes page, with length and fee. You can open that outline during the call.
Step 4
We name one alternative
A shorter group, a one-to-one hour at S$85, or an in-person session at Orchard for S$45. Two options prevent a single path from feeling like a push.
Step 5
You decide after the call
We send a short email with the two options. Nothing is booked until you reply. If you do not reply, we do not follow up with a sequence of reminders.
How to choose among the twelve
Start with the task, then the format. Chat assistants, safety, devices, photographs, health admin, and family calls are separate boards. You can join any of them first. A six-week programme at S$190 is for a habit you want to keep. A two- or three-week group is for a single job.
Choose in person at Orchard if seeing the same table helps you. Choose online if travel is tiring. Choose a family pair if a relative already tries to explain things and both of you want a slower script.
If two programmes look equal, we will pick the shorter one to start. You can add a second later. Payment after the first session means you can change your mind with a full picture of the room.
A printed recap is part of every paid session
Who the call is for
You, aged 55 or over
The club is built for older adults in Singapore. You do not need a relative on the line. You can book in your own name and keep the notes.
A relative who wants to help
You may book the orientation call on behalf of someone who is happy for you to do so. We still want to hear from that person before a paid programme starts, even briefly.
Someone who is unsure
Uncertainty is a good reason to call. We would rather spend twenty minutes and recommend nothing than fill a seat that will feel wrong by week two.
